After hearing about Good K9 Academy from our friend, we decided to board our dog Sully with Caroline at Good K9 Academy. Sully was extremely reactive before training, and would pull the leash to chase any squirrel, or lunge to say hi to any human or dog that passed us. After the board/train and lots of practice, Sully walks like a service dog and we feel comfortable with him off leash! We cannot say enough good things about Good K9 Academy. When we boarded with Caroline, we were out of the country, and she sent us pictures and videos each day to make us feel at ease. I signed my Australian Shepherd dog named Lupo up for the drop off week session with Good K9 Academy. I was highly impressed with how well Andrew the trainer did with my dog. My dog had several bad habits, such as jumping up on people and counter surfing, which he no longer does. He also learned several commands, the most important of which is heel and stay in one position. I would recommend Good K9 Academy to anyone who’s looking for a good dog training facility.

We sent our Golden Retriever, Oscar, to the two-week board and train with David to work on leash pulling and reactivity to loud sounds outside and he did an amazing job. Oscar is now a pro heeler, listens when we say commands and while he is always a bit fearful, David gave us ways to help Oscar cope with the these fears. I could not recommend Good K8 Academy enough for any type of training your dog might need!! They are pros and know how to help the most stubborn of dogs.

David has been amazing to work with! We brought our 7-year-old husky mix, Kali, to Good K9 for help with anxiety and reactivity. She spent about eight months in and out of shelters before I adopted her in 2019. After some early success with training, COVID hit us hard — she became anxious, territorial, and leash reactive. Our recent move to Maryland only added to that!Kali’s anxiety made walks tough. She’s also stubborn, stoic, and generally unmotivated😂. David took the time to understand her, and the progress she made in such a short amount of time was impressive. We brought our two 1 year and 4 month old cavapoos to Good K9 Academy for their two week intensive training. Before going they were incredibly reactive and difficult to control - even on leash. Every walk was a struggle.They have been back with us for a month now and have been an absolute joy. We are walking with them off leash. And although they are trained on an e-collar we are barely pressing any buttons. Both dogs are responding really well to voice commands - even when we see other dogs. Before they were impossible to control - now they’re great listeners and are super easy all around.Caroline and David took the time to meet with us in person and described the program. David and Dylan did all the training and have both remained available to answer questions - and also visit with us as needed post program. All in all - it has been a great experience and transformative for us as dog owners. Thank you!

Our two dogs Remi and Wini went through the 2 week boot camp with Caroline and David. We were not sure our dogs were even trainable but Caroline and David did it! They are very knowledgeable and experienced with training. They kept us updated each day along with pictures and videos of the progress. Good K9 Academy training program was the best thing we did for my two year old husky! David has changed our lives and we’re forever thankful.Before the two week train and board, Jax would pull on the leash, jump up on the table while I was cooking and eating, and did not have any recall. I never thought it would be possible to play fetch with him on the beach.After two weeks with David, Jax is the best behaved and trained dog! His heal, even when walking past other dogs, is incredible. This makes our walks so much more enjoyable! He also now understands speed. Before, when we would run, he would pull me the whole way (like a sled dog). Now Jax runs right next to me! Before, Jax would pull me to pee on every poll in the neighborhood- which he doesn’t anymore! We can walk up and down the beach with him in a heal without a leash- no matter what is happening around him.He can stay in place if someone new is walking through the door or if we’re eating at home or out to eat. One of my favorite new things we can do is laying on a lounge chair together at the pool. Jax will place on a lounge chair during pool parties or while I’m reading. I can bring him so many more places because he’s so well behaved!My favorite thing Jax learned is his recall. I have full trust that Jax will come right back to me- which I heard and believed would never be possible for a husky. I have full confidence I can bring Jax anywhere and he will listen to me. This makes life more fun and safe for me, our family, and more importantly him.This training taught Jax when to calm down. He was very high energy and needed constant attention through playing even after running and walking over 5 miles. While he is still very high energy, he knows when/how to calm down (place) and we snuggle SO MUCH more!Everyone in our house is happier, including Jax! We communicate so much better now!David went above and beyond. He is super responsive and helpful. He sent me updates throughout the training and answers questions I have had after the training. I will ask David to watch Jax whenever we go out of town when I can’t bring Jax because I trust David 100%.We plan to go to many more pack walks to keep in touch with David and practice training with other dogs around.Many people comment on how well Jax is trained when we’re out! I have recommended Good K9 Academy to many family and friends! David truly changed our life!!

Dylan was an amazing trainer and educator with our dog Boo! We’ve gone from having outbursts at every Labradoodle to being able to walk past three dogs at the same time with little excitement at all, if any. trust the process.

Good K-9 Academy has been terrific in turning around our reactive dog that was difficult to manage and we had trouble walking in our own neighborhood. David at Good K-9 Academy went above and beyond by ensuring that our dog followed commands completely before returning him to us, and kept us updated on his progress. When he brought our dog back, he met with us for a couple of hours to go over what we need to know, and even came by to help us other times to ensure we were confident in using commands and kept our dogs attention. Good K-9 also has weekly pack walks that have helped our dog be with other dogs and helped us to improve our techniques. We are extremely satisfied with the difference in our dog's behavior and in our ability to communicate with him. His reactivity is under control and our dog walks are greatly improved.

I can't say enough good things about the Good K9 Academy's board and train program. Our pup went with Dylan for the two week board and train, and he was amazing. When she got back, it was like having a totally different puppy. Before, she would lunge and bark at kids and runners, pull at the harness, lag behind forever, and was generally not that pleasant to walk. Now, we can go off leash in the park and on trails and she stays close by (she's just shy of 9 months), she responds to commands like come and place and sit, she ignores runners and kids, and she's just so much more behaved. It's like she matured 6 mos to a year since she went to boarding, and is a calmer, happier dog.Also, Dylan had such a lovely bond with her that we felt great about leaving her with him for two weeks, and he sent us pics and videos as well, which helped when we missed her. If you're looking for a positive reinforcement-based board and train for your pup, I *highly* recommend Good K9 academy.

Sent my dog to Dylan at Good K9 to address his car anxiety and I am beyond grateful for all the work that he put in! I was honestly ready to give up after working with multiple trainers over the past 3 years. But after just two weeks with Dylan, my dog now goes into the car crate with no hesitation and tolerates it so much more. My experience with Good K9 Academy was exceptional. I did both a phone and in-person consultation with them and both times they really spent the time to understand what I needed their help with. Because they market towards common "issues" I want to let others know they are equally as good for "trained" dogs.I am someone who spends a lot of time and money on my dog's training. I was looking for something VERY specific that other trainers couldn't really help me address because they found it difficult to reproduce the issues I was experiencing. My dog developed reactivity to large and loud trucks, school buses, delivery vans, and the mail man. I live in an area where there is high traffic which meant my dog's reactivity kept getting worse. I needed a trainer to work my dog in our hometown and that's exactly what Dylan did.Dylan helped me become a better trainer. Before Dylan, all the trainers kept telling me obedience was the key, but despite working on it, my dog's reactivity didn't improve. Dylan quickly recognized my dog loves to work as much as he loves to play; he taught me how to use that to my advantage. My dog's training plan was all about focus. Dylan catered to what my dog and I needs.Their prices are a bit higher than other trainers in the area which is why they weren't my first stop. They actually explained to me why and it's because their trainers typically work 1 dog at a time which is awesome and not very common. I have no regrets working with them and will likely do so in the future. I hope they consider marketing and additional training services towards alumni soon!

Good K9 Academy is amazing. Caroline and David trained our two pups Bella and Sophie. We enrolled the pups in the 2 weeks board and train program which we highly recommend.When we dropped off Bella, our 3 year old Labradoodle, we told David the trainer, that Bella had serious behavioral issues, like barking at strangers, dogs, sign posts, lunging while barking, pulling on walks, you name it. David assured us that Bella will be transformed and we will see significant changes in Bella’s behavior at the end of the program. When we picked up Bella at the end of the two weeks program, we could not believe the transformation. Bella now walks by our side, she comes when called, she is no longer barking or lunging at people.Prior to the training, our 5 year old Golden Doodle Sophie, would not take commands, she loves people so she used to jump on them and would pull on walks.Caroline at the Good K9 was amazing. She sent, videos, photos and updates on how Sophie was doing. This was very important to us since it was our first time boarding our dogs for more than a couple of days. When we picked up Sophie, she was literally off leash ❤️🙌. We now enjoy walking Sophie off leash. This review is long overdue. But, in 2021, we decided to adopt a puppy from a shelter. We’ve had two other dogs in the past and we typically did not need a trainer. But, Lani came with a personality of dominance, which we could not manage. She had a mind of her own and wanted to be the boss. I decided to train her with Good K9 Academy. Andrew and Caroline are simply the best! I boarded her for the two weeks and she came back more behaved and obedient. When I had questions or issues they taught me tips and tricks along the process to help me keep Lani in check. Transformational!David w/K9 is an amazing trainer and exceeded our expectations. Our dog Duke is a 1yo Standard Poodle (75 pounds) with a ton of energy and prey drive. Duke spent 2 weeks with David in a board & train program and came home an absolutely different dog. One of my fav parts of the training was the 2+ hour handoff, where David did a knowledge transfer and made sure Duke was responding to all my commands and I had a high degree of confidence I could continue on my own. Our goal for Duke is to be an exemplary doggy citizen and this was the best investment we could have ever made. 10/10, highly recommended.

We used David to help out with our 1.5 year old golden retriever. We had issues on walks with him jumping on us and reactivity to oncoming dogs. Not only have we seen major improvements, our dog was able to learn new skills we would have never thought he was capable of. We would highly recommend Good K9 if you need any help with your dog. The investment has saved a lot of frustration and made our walks much more enjoyable.

I'm so happy to have found Good K9!! I have a year and half old German Shepherd, Bud, who I've been training and taken to trainers since he was a puppy. Recently he was showing a lot of reactivity towards other dogs and people. After trying another trainer local to me and having no luck in solving the issue I called Good K9. Andrew was very knowledgeable and was super quick to get a eval in. While in the board and train he sent me frequent updates and videos on how my dog was doing and progressing which was so nice and reassuring. When I picked Bud up the videos rang true and his reactivity compared to before was like night and day. Bud could now walk throw barking dogs and groups of people without caring. Andrew even got him to reach my goal of an off leash heel! Most importantly I can truly see how much he and the company cares for the dogs in their care and I felt at ease that my dog would be safe with them. Exceptionally well performance.David is the one that trained my 4.5 year old French Bulldog, Greyson. Not only have the results shown since his graduation, David took exceptionally great care of Greyson during his 2-week board and train. He sent me updates all along the way and took special care discussing dietary needs and other matters. David showed a true care beyond the job, as well as beyond my expectation. At graduation, David was very confident, detailed, had patience, and took his time with everything. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.Andrew is who I made first contact with, and he made everything very easy. He gave me several different options and really catered to what I was looking for. Charlie (3yo Golden) and Cleo (1yo Golden) just graduated from the two week board and train program. They did an incredible job! I never would have thought it possible to have them off leash and not reactive prior to this. We highly recommend Good K-9 Academy! Callie, our 9 month old mini-goldendoodle, is a very happy, sweet girl, but was struggling to walk on leash due to high reactivity to other dogs, people, bikes and cars. We could not take her for casual walks or to public places without feeling overly stressed. Additionally, we had done some previous training for basic obedience and recall commands of which she was not consistently responsive. We were at a crossroads so decided to do extensive research in hopes of finding a better training solution. Thankfully we found Good K-9 Academy. After speaking extensively with Andrew, the owner, we felt very confident that the two week board and train program would be a good fit for Callie. We were very nervous to part from her for two weeks, but Andrew was incredible at communicating with us every single day in addition to sending several pictures and videos throughout her training program. We were amazed at Callie's progress only after two days. She was out at public places and responding beautifully to her main trainer, intern, Kristyn. We were truly speechless on a daily basis by what we were observing and very pleased at how happy she appeared as she received her training.We have now had Callie home for a week and we are so pleased with her behavior. We are able to walk her off- leash without hesitation and she is responding to recall commands in all scenarios. We feel she is her happy self and now gets to experience the world with us so much more. Tony is fantastic! Our reactive 3 year old miniature pinscher completed her 2 week board and train with him and it made a world of difference. She learned how to heel, down, sit, and come in distracting environments, which she would not do before training. We adopted our one year old husky from the shelter. He was wild, jumping on walks, nipping, a real nightmare. We were ready to give up on him but decided to invest on obedience classes. Tony was an AMAZING trainer. Words cannot express how grateful I am to him. My dog was reactive to other dogs and people and very fearful. Tony was kind, patient, and I trusted him completely. So did my Missy- she warmed up to him right away! After 2 weeks she came back to me like a different dog. She is more confident, responds to commands and does not react! I can actually take her on walks. I would 100 % recommend Good K9 and Tony!

I signed Rain and J up for board and train and I don’t regret it. They were leash pulling and reactive towards people and dogs. Tony always updated us every day on their progress and I was amazed. Especially with Rain because he’s stubborn when training. Every time I take them out for walks, they don’t react to dogs barking or lunging at them and no longer pull on their leash. I am thankful for Tony and would 100% recommend.

Apollo is a my first puppy dog ever and he/we struggled with basic obedience commands. He pulled on the leash, didn’t come, sit or place with any consistency. After just two weeks of Board & Train with Tony, Apollo is now showing off his new skills! He can now heal, sit, and place on command. Our walks are much more fun and we even went on a hike in the woods recently. Apollo also learned the Off command that helps me - help him stop eating and chewing random trash, socks and organic matter he sniffs along the way. I was initially nervous about the e collar but it really helps Apollo understand the commands and he is still the happy, silly puppy we love. Thanks to Good K9, Andrew and Tony!!

Highly recommended! Our Sheepadoodle puppy (9-months) Willow is a ball of energy. Super affectionate and social her energy needs to be focused so that we can all enjoy each other. We struggled with a puppy training course that was solely treat reward based as well as numerous harnesses and leash leaders to no avail. Walking with her was exhausting, stressful, and embarrassing. After 2-weeks of training and boarding with Tony we have a better behaved pup who aims to please, appears more at ease and happy, and who listens. She still has a lot of puppy energy and characteristics, but over time with the training we received and consistency from us she will continue to learn. She has been a great dog and now she is even better and we are enjoying each other more. The cost can be high but the results are worth the expense. Thanks Tony and Good K9 Academy!

Milo, my 2-3 old lab mix took the two week board and train lessons with Tony from the Good k9 academy. Tony did an excellent job with Milo and he had learnt so many commands after the two weeks! Obviously, I’m going to have to keep working on Milo’s commands but he’s tons better on his leash walk now! Milo is also so much more well behaved at home. Doesn’t jump on me, sits calm when I’m doing something, etc. I was told I can always reach out for help in the future. Thanks Tony and Andrew!

We have a one year old male shih tzu that has a ton of energy and didn’t really react well around other dogs. We also dealt with a lot of pulling on his leash during our walks and excessive barking/jumping. After just five days we see a huge change in his behavior he’s like a completely different dog. David was great! He kept me updated on Bentley’s progress and even sent videos of what they were currently working on. He ensured we were comfortable and understood how to properly give the commands at the end of each training session. Bentley can now heel, place and we no longer deal with the excessive barking and jumping! We’re so thankful! I would definitely recommend good K9 academy to anyone looking to get their fur babies trained.

I can’t thank David and Andrew enough. After years of many many different trainers and classes, we could not get our beagle Ruby to walk without pulling, and being very reactive towards other dogs while on walks. Within two weeks of doing board and train with David, Ruby is healing off leash in huge crowds and walking by other dogs with no issues. I am amazed at the results! Andrew was amazing with our six month old rescue pup -Dewey. Dewey was a stray puppy born on the streets in Puerto Rico and brought into the US by Lucky Dog rescue when he was 2 months old. He was super reactive to people, other dogs, and basically every noise etc. We started working with Andrew right after we adopted Dewey and worked with him directly for four 1-1 private lessons and then signed Dewey up for Andrew’s 2 week board and train. Dewey just graduated and it’s amazing what Andrew accomplished with Dewey. Dewey is confident, no longer reactive, sits, heels, knows place and can even heel off leash. It’s is AMAZING the transformation in Dewey after being with Andrew in his 2 week board and train. I highly recommend Andrew and his team of trainers at Good K9 Academy. Sophie had two week board and train with Good K9 academy. She has learnt a lot from her lessons. She is a 2 year old german shepherd. She used to react everything around us - passerby, squirrels, bunnies, kids, bikes - you name it. After coming back from the two weeks training she has calmed down and stopped reacting to everything. Now we are able to walk in peace, she stays next to me during the walks and does not drag me to everything. David did great job. Our husky was a true escape artist and we wanted to get him off leash trained for our own piece of mind (after he ran off). It has been life changing. We know if he gets off leash that he can emergency sit, emergency down, and come back! Additionally, he know walks in heel even when walking by reactive dogs.

Our dog Milo did a board and train with Tony for 2 weeks and we are so happy with the results. He sent us daily videos and pictures of how Milo was doing. We were so excited to receive the videos everyday. Milo was dog reactive and did not know how to walk on leash well. Tony did a great job fixing both those issues for us and taught Milo many more commands. Milo is now walking on leash perfectly and passing dogs in the neighborhood with no reactions. I would recommend Good K9 and Tony to anyone with a dog that needs training. Looking forward to taking Milo to the pack walks with Good K9 on Saturdays to see his friends!

We left Milo with Tony for a two week board and train, and are beyond happy with the results. Milo was very reactive towards other dogs and beyond going to his crate didn’t know any commands very well. Within two weeks Tony was capable of teaching Milo to heel, sit, place, lay down, and most importantly remain well behaved in close proximity with other dogs. Tony is truly an amazing trainer and we could tell in every video was extremely patient with Milo. He took the time every day to send us updates with both pictures and videos. Any pet parent knows how difficult it could be to trust a stranger with your pet. However, after the first day with Tony we knew Milo was in very good hands. On the last day Tony took the time to walk us through e-collar education, the new commands Milo has learned, additional manners, and answer every question we could have. We are very happy we decided to go to Good K9 Academy for our dog training needs. I would most certainly recommend them to friends and family.

My husband and I sent our dog, Murphy, to Good K9 to learn better leash manners and off leash walking. We are very particular about who we trust with our dog and spent a long time reviewing and researching board and train programs in the DMV area. We went out to a brewery one day and saw a very well behaved dog and learned he was trained by Good K9, one of the top 2 companies we were considering. Meeting this other dog helped us decide that Good K9 was the place to send our pup. Murphy was trained by David for 2 weeks and we couldn't be happier with the results! David sent us lots of updates and they have a huge presence on Instagram so we could track her progress. When we went to pick up Murphy, David didn't rush us and answered all our (many) questions. He made sure we knew exactly how to continue Murphy's progress.We live in a populated area near Gaithersburg and their training exposes dogs to populated areas that your dog would likely go. I feel confident taking Murphy running, hiking, and walking off leash. We no longer get an arm workout trying to walk her on leash!Good K9 also offers group walks with other dogs who have been through the program which gives us the chance to keep her new skills fresh and gives us a chance to ask any questions that come up down the road.We couldn't be happier with Good K9 and Murphy's transformation. I am SO HAPPY with the results! My dog used to pull me on walks and ignore me when I called him, but after doing this training program, he's completely transformed! He's able to play with new pups now that he's learned how to socialize properly and has had his behavior corrected. The trainers were amazing - super knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cared about our dog's well-being. David was great! He kept me updated on our dog's progress and even sent me videos of his training sessions, which made me feel at ease knowing he was in good hands. Since finishing the program, our dog has become much more responsive to commands and is so much easier to walk on a leash & off leash. It's such a relief that he no longer pulls me around and actually listens when I call him. I'm really glad we went through with the 2 week board and train program at Good k9 academy - Andrew and David were so helpful and answered all of our questions and concerns. My Coco is still a puppy so he gets super distracted with new things so, we continue to practice what we learned to ensure he doesn't forget and keeps listening to us. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this board and train program to anyone who needs help with their furry friend's behavior.

My dog did a 2 week board and train with Tony from Good K9 Academy. Tony was extremely helpful in guiding Pop (my dog) into better responsiveness and confidence in public settings. Im able to walk with him on heel without issues and he has been great at home. Tony provided videos and pictures for updates, which made my 2 weeks without Pop a lot more bearable. highly recommend Good K9 Academy!

Our 11 month Wheaton Terrier recently completed his 2 week board & Train program and we are so pleased with his progress. Thank you David !!! Okay, let's start with the dog. We adopted Gelato in November 2022 and were told he was "reactive" when he saw other dogs. Our previous pooch wasn't reactive, but he didn't get along with everyone so it wasn't a deal breaker when he heard "reactive". The most important I think to recognize is that Gelato was in a shelter for almost 4 months being surrounded by constant barking. According to the shelter Gelato lived with another dog previously before being surrendered due to the owners age. Anyway the first week we had Gelato at home he was definitely reactive but not aggressive. He was afraid of everything. As a result, when he saw another dog his hackles went up and he would stand on his hind to legs and basically scream at the other dog.My boyfriend began looking into basic training for us and after some research, thought it would be better to have proper training. I agreed and we began the search for an actual training program. The first one he actually stumbled upon was good k9 academy. At first when my boyfriend said "board and train" oh my gosh I don't think I ever said no so fast. All those horror stories of dogs being left in hot vans or getting sick or getting loose etc. I was against it at first but my boyfriend showed me the profile and the alumni and I began to see that this isn't just any old PetSmart board and train pet hotel kind of deal. It's people who really care about your pet and the proof is in the poochies. There were so many success stories of dogs who were similar to Gelato. So we scheduled our consultation and Andrew came out himself to meet us and Gelato. He was very honest and up front about everything which I really appreciated.At the consultation he brought another dog with whom he was working with and Gelato did his thing and freaked, so Andrew decided to put the e-collar on to test and see how he would react and to my surprise but also relief, Gelato stopped! After some more consultation type things (i.e. walking next to each of us, walking past the other dog) we realized that Gelato actually has a chance at learning how to be a dog again. Andrew had actually said that he wanted to work with Gelato himself! So my boyfriend and I took the night to discuss which trainings we'd prefer and we decided to take the leap and invest in Gelato's well-being.Fast forward some more and we are dropping Gelato off at Andrews for the (at least) two weeks board and train. We were also prepared to have Gelato there for longer due to his reactivity and not knowing how he would do. Upon that first drop off night Gelato was reactive and barking but by the next day, Andrew sent us pictures and videos of his progress and it was amazing what changed in just a matter of a couple of days. Andrew was very communicative with us and was always sharing videos and pictures and answering our many texts and phone calls about any questions or concerns we had.Gelato has been home for a bit now and Andrew was very helpful at the drop off and has continued to offer his help while gelato transitions back into his own home. He even offered to have Gelato come for a play date with his own dogs! Gelato has learned so much and we owe it all to good k9 academy! They taught him how to be a dog again and I am forever grateful for Andrew and his staff who take the time to work with dogs and people. Words can't describe how amazed I am with Gelato's training and confidence. He can run and play and have fun without being anxious! He learned some advanced commands and loves getting treats for being such a good boy. It's reassuring knowing that my dog is safe when we go for walks and my own vigilance and anxiety can be lowered because of the training both Gelato and I have now. We are both more confident!This team is the best of the best and they are genuine dog lovers. They are very knowledgeable and they truly care about the pets and their owners. My dog Wumbo is an Alaskan Malamute. It was my first time having a big dog and I was kinda getting tired of him being a little mischievous, not listening and always getting distracted. Sending him to boarding training gave me a break from him. When he came back he’s calmer and listens to me better. I was so surprised that my dog can walk right next to me now without pulling and sometimes without a leash. Their trainer, David gave me the right tools and the confidence to continue exercising what my dog have learned from training. Good K9 Academy is definitely worth it.

I got my dog trained by good K9. Skyler was my trainer! I have extremely stubborn 50 pound beagle who pulled me everywhere. We did the one week day train. Now we can actually communicate. Everyday we’re working on everything Skyler has taught us. Obviously good k9 isn’t going to fix everything that is going on with your dog, but they can give you the tools to work on them together. You need to go into it with a realistic outcome.

Andrew and his team are FREAKING AMAZING! We have a handsome Mini Goldendoodle, Koda and he did both the private training (at 6 months) and then immediately rolled over to the 2 week board and training program. Our goal was to have Koda walk leash less and heel by our command.Everything has lived up to the hype and my husband and I couldn’t be happier.He is excellent with basic commands such as sit, come, place…but all new tricks we’ve even been able to teach him using Good K9 Academy’s methods like “paw!, Pound it, or ringing the bell after saying “let’s go outside!”Andrew and his team baby sits when we have trips, and we do pack walks on the weekends (open to his current and past clients) where he is able to see progression with our training or make some corrections if he sees something wrong.Make sure to keep up with the training that Andrew shows you at when he returns your pet to you because the real magic is what you continue to do at home!If you ever have a question in your mind about who to go to or trust..or wanting your dog to just listen to you while walking or playing outside…..trust me…you’ve found it (and NO I was not paid to say this!)Best of luck to all the doggy parents! 🐶🦮🐾

I have just got the One-Week Day Training at Good K9 Academy for my 9 months old German Shepherd girl Tandy. Tandy had attended 12 sessions of dog obedience training group class in a local dog school before taking the Good K9 Academy training program. Although Tandy and I learned some basic skills from that group classes but she still pulled leash sometimes which made me very frustrated. At the Good K9 Academy training, David taught her some very useful skills including heeling and placing which made her a completely different dog. The heeling has solved all the bad habits she had at walking and placing has improved her sit/down stay ability and calmness dramatically. Moreover, Tandy reacted to windshield wiper badly before and it was successfully corrected by David which made me relieved because finally I can drive with Tandy's ride in rain. Overall, Good K9 Academy's training is very impressive and reliable. Both David and Andrew have impressed me with their professionalism and love to dogs. Really appreciate!

WOW…I can’t say enough positive things about Andrew and Good K9 Academy. I sent my 10 month old puppy to the two week board and train. Before he went, he was a super sweet and goofy, but distractive hound who pulled, wouldn’t stay, begged, wouldn’t come when called. After two weeks he is completely leash free (where appropriate). He listens, heels, comes, sits, stays in place and still just as sweet and goofy as when he left. Andrew was awesome. He sent me videos throughout the two weeks and sent me tons of updates. He answered any and all questions I had. He listened to my concerns before I dropped Mr. Baggins off and addressed all of them and worked on those issues. He explained the e-collar thoroughly and spent as much time as was needed when I picked Mr. Baggins up making sure I was comfortable with it. Im looking forward to my next adventures with Mr. Baggins knowing he’s going to have a good time; I’m super excited for the summer and being able to take him to wineries and patio happy hours and know he’ll behave as he should. The best decision I could have made for Mr. Baggins. He is an awesome K9 partner.

We sent our poorly behaved 2 year old AHT for a two week training with Good K9 Academy. We could barely take our dog on a walk due to his terrible pulling, leash aggression towards other dogs and we could also not let him off leash as he would run away. Our family cannot believe how well behaved he is, how he walks in a perfect heel, and will completely ignore other dogs now. When we have visitors at the house he will sit in place until we release him. We cannot be happier with the results from Good K9 Academy!

I have a 9 month German Shepherd puppy, he was very reactive to other dogs and people on leash and was really hard to control in public environment. I decided send him to 2 weeks bored and train with the Good K9 Academy to have him work on his social skills but also work on his commands and be less reactive. For the two weeks he was gone I would get occasional updates from the trainer about how well he was dealing with videos and sometime pictures. He looked like he was having lots of fun since he was around other dogs but also working and becoming a better and less reactive puppy. When I got him back it was almost like a night and day. He was still the same lovable and active puppy. But he was so much better at listening to his commands and actually staying put when being told too. The fact that he did not get up and go after another dog to play with was amazing to see. They went over all the training that they had worked on and showed me how to correctly go about it. And then the same day we went to PetSmart under busiest day and walked around with other dogs and people and he did amazingly really well. I'm really grateful for having him sent there because every time people interact with my dog they actually see the difference and compliment on it. Definitely worth it.

During Chloes 2 week training I received daily videos of her progress and was already amazed with what she was able to do on just day 3!!!Good K9 Academy listened to my concerns and focused her training towards them to make sure we were 100% satisfied.Chloe used to get distracted easily on walks and was starting to become a handful. My dog jimmy was aggressive, didn’t listen at all, would always jump on people and pull during Walks. We searched everywhere for a good place to teach him and eventually found Good K9. We talked to Andrew and he introduced us to skylar who would be in charge of training jimmy. Good K9 Academy did a great job addressing my dog's anxiety and improving his basic obedience. My dog, Jelly, was afraid of people and had a severe fear of going outdoors due to loud noises, to the point of refusing to go for walks. David addressed and worked with Jelly on getting over these anxieties and provided updates through texts every few days. They trained and walked him in places such as PetSmart and hardware stores to help him become accustomed to different environments. Good K9 Academy also provided advice on how to deal with Jelly's anxiety. Through Good K9 Academy’s 2-week board and train, Jelly was able to overcome his fear of different outdoor environments and learn basic obedience such as sit, down, stay, heel, recall, and heeling off leash. They did absolutely amazing. My dog is a standard poodle a very smart breed and very hard to train. I was having trouble letting him play at the park or in my yard because he loves to run away and have you play the chasing game which is all fun in good until you’re trying to catch him for a hour and he’s running in the the street where cars are driving not to mention very embarrassing to me. After the two week of training here now we can actually go to the dog park and play in the yard without him running away and when it’s time to go all I have to do is call him and he finally comes. You can also see he’s mush happier because I’m not getting angry and frustrated with him anymore and him be confused why mommy is upset. I really can’t thank them enough I highly recommend this company. They also constantly updated me and sent me videos of my puppy which was very reassuring. I can’t believe the dog I have now it’s literally like night and day. Amazing 10/10😊.

David was amazing! Our pup Chance went for training because he was reactive to everything. We couldn't go on walks with him because of how reactive he was. After a week of David working with him we were walking off leash through Rio NO PROBLEM! I couldn't believe it. Walking with Chance is an absolute dream now. Initially, I was hesitant about signing my dog up for their two week board and train because I seriously thought there was no training hope for him as we tried and kept trying to train him to no avail but nonetheless we signed him up and had him go to Good K9 after reading great reviews online, following their social media page and having friends who previously trained with them. I can honestly say the two week program was worth every single penny!!! my dog Kody is a Jack Russell and super high energy, but it was a huge struggle getting him out of the house and being able to enjoy taking him to public places because of his behavior, he used to pull leashes. bark at dogs, not listen at all. But all of that changed after his training. He now walks without pulling, comes when is called and respects his role as our dog. Skyler was amazing at keeping us updated about Kody and sending us updates, and after the two weeks he spent a good deal of time helping us ease into our new life with Kody. I can’t recommend Skyler and Good K9 enough!! We’re now able to take Kody to the park and go on walks all without a leash - something I never thought we’d be able to do. Are you a millennial and your dog is literally your everything? Have you consulted multiple training companies and none felt just right? This review is for YOU!After reading reviews and consulting 6 different places, Patron recently completed the Day Program (5 days, 7 hours dog and trainer, and 1 hour with trainer, dog, and owner) with David at Good K9 Academy. He’d probably agree I was pessimistic about what Patron could accomplish but was excited for Patron to be in the program. He went over what they would be working on each morning during drop off. He always made sure to allow time for me to ask my millions of questions too. In the afternoon, he shared what Patron learned that day, explained how to give the command, showed me first, asked if I had any questions or needed to see it again, and then had me do the command. And it wasn’t just once. He had me practice until I got it down. He made sure to comment on things I forgot or prompt me to perfect the commands. Each afternoon, Patron exceeded my expectations on what I thought he was capable of learning, and everything we learned we use daily.David also helped build my own confidence throughout the week. I think the biggest benefit of Good K9 Academy is having a trainer that gives the owner the tools and guidance to continue to have a happy and obedient pup after training is over. Training a dog is one thing, but to train a dog and a stubborn, overthinking adult is a skill.I went from having a puppy with absolutely no boundaries, respect for me, zero recall, and a pup that bolts towards anything moving, including dogs and people that don’t appreciate his hello. Today, Patron is free to do what he loves the most- use his nose and sniff everything, yet comes when called. I’m no longer worried about him getting off-leash and bolting and not coming back. I no longer run after him or shout his name to try and get his attention. At home, I no longer get frustrated with him and have to tell him “no” or move him away when I’m cooking, eating, or trying to feed him. He happily places on his cot. We can now go on walks without wrist/arm pain because there is no pulling. Best of all, he is still his happy, goofy, playful self. If anything he seems so much happier to have structure in his life. Andrew was great ! He answered all of our questions and took care of my pup as if it was his own. Koda stayed with Andrew for two weeks board and train and was really nervous at first but it didn’t take long for him to get use to Andrew and his two dogs ! We would get pictures and updates about koda daily. My pup would pull every time we took him out on walks and it was tough having company over because he would always lunge at people. We picked Koda up today and wow so many compliments! It seems like he’s a different puppy. He learned very quick and by the time he came home he was off leash around a crowd of people. We are so glad we let Andrew and his team train koda we are excited for the journey that lies ahead. On one of our walks, we met trainer David Delgado, who happened to live across the street. David was kind and friendly, answered all our questions and more, made himself available as a neighbor and friend, which gave us confidence, knowing he is around the corner.Soon enough we decided to adopt Skyrus. We used a different trainer at first, and after a few sessions we started noticing that the training wasn’t showing too many results. We were hesitant to use Good K-9 Academy, we feared that the e-collar would be inhumane and hurtful for our dog who was already a rescue and had been through so much.Honestly, just because over time we got to know David even better as person, we knew how calm and kind he was, so he couldn’t be like that and be vouching for something inhumane… And so, we decided with fingers crossed to give it a shot; also because by then we wanted Skyrus to be able to use David as a trainer and as daycare.I can’t say enough about how happy we are, and how great Skyrus has been on this training! Skyrus’s sweet, communicative personality came through.We learned more about the Good K-9 method, which is really like a ‘tap on the shoulders’. It creates an avenue to communicate with our dog.I don’t know about other e-collar systems, but I see that this one is not about causing pain to the dog, much on the contrary. First of all, the pressure of the device is gentle enough that anyone could tolerate. And besides, the method becomes gradually unobtrusive to the point that it frees the dog to play and circulate without a leash. After he’s learned certain commands, we don’t even have to use the remote, he is obedient and does them right away.Good K-9 Academy was definitely the best decision that we could have made. And, Skyrus LOVES David, goes happily with wagging tail to him every time, like family; and returns home excited - with his intelligence stimulated - but also super chill and easy. My 2.5 year old dog Bella recently completed the one week day training classes with trainer David. We took Bella to get help with reactiveness with people and dogs as well as well as pulling while going on walks.I have been following Good K9 Academy on social media for some time now and have always been super impressed with the results that they have achieved with other dogs experiencing similar obedience issues. I have been completely positively blown away by the night and day change that we have seen in Bella. Since completing her training going on walks is no longer a nightmare because every time she would see a squirrel she would go crazy pulling . I am a first time dog owner and had no idea where to start. When we came to Good K9 Academy, our pit Rico was pulling on the leash, he would bark and jump on people. Rico learned to heel, come when called and not react with other people around. Andrew gave us the tools to continue his training at home. I had tried another training program before Good K9 Academy with no success. So I was hesitant to try another, especially due to the cost. At the urging of a co-worker I finally called Good K9 for a consultation. I enrolled my dog in the 2 week board and train with Caroline and have 0 regrets. I did the 5 day training program with Skyler. Prior to GoodK9Academy, Puka would pull me during walks and bike rides, was extremely reactive towards dogs and could not be walked without going left and right. If he saw dogs approaching he would bark, growl and launch, and would sometimes growl at people if they got too close.Skyler trained Puka for a week, and he became a brand new dog. Puka no longer pulls, reacts, and is far more relaxed on walks/ runs/ bike rides. I am able to pass by dogs and people without any issues and get a lot of compliments on how well mannered he is. It has now been about 4 months post training and we are able to off leash bike ride and he heels next to me the whole time without any issues. Skyler went through how to use the remote very thoroughly and I was comfortable with using it after the first time he showed me. If I have any questions, the trainers are available to answer them.One of the biggest perks for alumni’s are pack walks. Andrew and Caroline are absolutely phenomenal! Branch my 19 month old Chocolate Lab is an completely a different dog because of Good K9 Academy. Caroline trained Branch and he was with her 24-7. Branch lived with her for 2 weeks.Day 1 of the 2 weeks was instant I mean instant progress. Several times a day I would get texts updates and videos of Branch training. My husband and I discovered Good K9 academy through our neighbors and their amazing pups. We were so amazed at how well behaved they were every time we went on play dates we just had to get a free consultation for ourselves. He was able to answer all of our questions.Then our 1 year old English cream golden retriever was sent off to his 2 week board and train with trainer Caroline. Caroline is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Our 7 month old dog Rex did the 1 week day training program with Andrew and the results were incredible! Our dog would pull and drag my son and myself. He would pull towards people or any dogs he saw outside walking him was a battle. He would also jump on people when they tried to pet him and now that's no longer a problem. We are so grateful and happy with our experience with Good K9 Academy. Before signing up our 10 month German Shepherd for board and train she was very reactive to other dogs , would pull on the leash, inside the house she would jump on visitors when they first came in. Fast forward to life after training, now the dreadful walks are a nice joyful experiences, she no longer pulls, heels right next to us the entire time, she is no longer reactive to other dogs, and calmly stays in place when visitors come in. I'm so glad I came across Good K9 Academy and decided to send my dog to the 2 week training program. It was worth every penny and I would have paid more. My dog didn't have big behavior issues, but she ran away if I let her off leash (always came back eventually but not when called) and she pulled when being walked on a leash. We even replaced our backyard fence but she managed to start escaping through the new narrow aluminum fence. We tried training her ourselves but she was just stubborn with these few things - everything else we were able to do fine. We sent her for the 2 week training and oh wow, her trainer David did such an amazing job. The leash is now completely not necessary, she will walk and stay with us, and if she starts going off, we can always get her to come back. She is happier because she can explore without having to be on a leash the whole time, and we are much happier because she is just pleasant to be outside with, and we have the confidence that she will absolutely not run off. I think a lot of people will only send dogs with serious behavior problems to a "boot camp" type training, but I think it is much more worth the money and time, because all of the work is done for you and the dog is completely trained in just two weeks. I highly recommend it if you just do not have the time, patience, and/or experience to train the dog yourself. Moreover, Andrew is very responsive and professional, and the program comes with great perks that allow you to make sure that the dog doesn't lose what she learned. Before Good K9 Academy, my dog Odie was terrified of everything and would growl at any new person he met. When we took him for the day training program, he was trained by Adriana and we can not thank her enough for all the progress she made with Odie! He doesn’t get terrified of loud noises or people anymore, can heel off leash, listen to commands, and overall live a happier and less fearful life. Adriana was so caring for Odie, I never felt uncomfortable leaving him with her for the full day because I knew he would be making good progress and also be well taken care of. We brought our 3 year old Pitbull Niko to the Good K9 Academy for the 2 week board and train program. We could not be more pleased with his results! When we dropped Niko off our main issues with his behavior was pulling on the leash, jumping up on people/countertops, and his reactiveness to his surroundings. We got my dog trained about 2 years ago and she is the best dog in the world! She listens to me with distractions and I can take her anywhere and trust that she will listen to me and not have to worry about her wondering off while she is off leash. We got her trained when she was 6 months old and now she is 2 and 6 months, and she acts the exact same (maybe even better) than the day we brought her home after her 2 week board and train. I strongly encourage anyone who needs dog training to consider the GoodK9 Academy. Our dog Madi is a rescued Staffordshire Terrier. We spent thousands of dollars with other trainers to get Madi to a place where she could get her CGC and to help her be less reactive to other dogs. We were unsuccessful until we found GoodK9. Their basic training was amazing and for many dogs that is all you may need. Even after our first week of basic training Madi was responsive to commands and it lessened the stress in our house. If I had to describe in one word the experience and quality of service it would be OUTSTANDING. The services far exceeded my expectations. We have a Newfoundland/shepherd mix and she was extremely difficult to walk. We were concerned, especially with having a baby on the way. We seen Good K9 training a dog while we were out and thought it was amazing. After two weeks of boarding, she’s an amazing walker. In fact, I enjoy walking her. My dog (Coco) had problems with pulling and not being responsive at all. Coco is a very energetic dog and the only way I could release his energy was bringing him to the dog park because he would pull like crazy if we went on walks. He did not listen to me at all. We chose the 2 weeks board training and it was honestly worth it. Andrew would update me everyday on Coco and send me videos of him training. Once he was back we had a 2 hour training with Coco and he was so much calmer, definitely responsive, did not pull at all and would heel perfectly. I am very satisfied with the results and would definitely recommend it!!

We have a 1 year old, 80+ lb, surprisingly strong lab. My 10 year old beagle moved with me from a big house and yard with lots of room to run free and be distant from my neighbors into an apartment where he needs to be leash walked. He has never really been good on a leash, pulling and dragging me wherever he wants to go. Also, any dog he saw was a reason to bark uncontrollably and get very agitated. We used Good K9 Academy for Enzo, our 8-month old Rottweiler and Harley, our 14-year old Rottie mix. Both are great dogs but we wanted better control while walking and less reaction to other dogs. Enzo went to the 2-week Board and Train. While training, Andrew noticed he had a skin rash probably a reaction from the metal on his old collar. They took him to the vet during his stay and Caroline also took him for a bath. His training was great. Enzo is well behaved on and off leash. Harley did the basic obedience class. You can teach old dogs new tricks. He is great on and off leash doesn't react to other dogs like he use to. We can take them to public places and they are relaxed and well behaved. Both Caroline and Andrew care about the dogs and it shows. Their pupils come back often for the group walks and playtime. We appreciate the extra care that Enzo received. My dog Used to bolt out the front door every chance he would get and to get him back would take an hour or 2 of running and chasing. He would also pull on the leash forcing his way. I brought my 1 year old pup to Andrew for basic and advanced classes. Before signing up for classes my dog would pull on walks and not listen to me. 6/5 stars! Our first of two English lab brothers (Mack) graduated Good K9 Academy's 2 week board and train. The investment is well worth it and we were like so many others who were disappointed in costly "pro" dog trainers who didn't deliver as they have promised. Watching Andrew go through the training exercises with Mack was as if he was a magician getting him to listen. The best part of it all was his patience teaching us the commands and witnessing Mack listen and follow our lead. We look forward to his brother Charlie attending the two week board and train in the near future.You will not be disappointed with the level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine care Andrew and his crew have for your dog. Your pup will also make great human and K9 friends in the process.

Best decision my husband and I ever made for our dog, Kai. Before Good K9 he was pulling on walks (I would need to use both arms to control him), barking at people or other dogs, and unable to hold commands during distractions. Kai did the day train program with their trainer Skyler and after the first day we saw a major difference! He was no longer pulling. Skyler did a great job with training Kai and working on his car anxiety with him. We were introduced to goodK9academy by way of a referral from a former client of his. We were so impressed that we made an appointment with Andrew and introduced him to our dog. We opted for the 2 week board and train and it was worth every penny. Not only was our dog loved and cuddled ( our dog is a BIG cuddle bug ) the two weeks he was with Andrew and Caroline he came back to us trained on all the things that we had discussed with Andrew. Getting our dog back trained was important because that’s what we paid for but we also know that he was loved while he was with them . We were able to follow along those weeks via IG and he even sent us little videos from time to time just to let us know how he was doing.We can’t say enough about our great experience at Goodk9acadamy. I will absolutely recommend the Good K9 Academy to any and everyone. My very reactive dog, Rockie, recently graduated from their board and train program. Taking him on walks or to any other public setting was a nightmare. He used to pull and be very reactive with other dogs and any kind of wildlife. Now, he heels and I am able to walk him off leash. I am also able to cook, eat, clean without him being in the way due to the place/command process. The overall handling of him is now completely stress free. In the begining Sir Rockwell was very reactive to other dogs. My goal was for him to become a therapy / Service dog. Thanks to Good K9 Academy, Sir Rockwell is not only non-reactive to other dogs, but enjoys being around them. He passed his AKC CGC test. Worth every penny. Ruby was super reactive and impossible to walk her. After just one week of training she's no longer reactive. Truly amazing. It's like a whole new dog. I'm excited to be able to take her on walks without stressing out. 1000/10 would recommend!

My dog Coco graduated from the 2 week board and train. Coco was very reactive towards people and dogs. She would pull extremely hard on walks and it was almost impossible to take her anywhere. After her 2 weeks of training, Coco came back very happy and well trained. She is no longer reactive with people or dogs and can even walk off leash! She heels the entirety of her walks and is very focused now. Andrew and Caroline did an amazing job with her! OK, so first I was hesitant to do this only because of pricing but honestly the money was sooo worth it!!!! Andrew is such a great trainer, he's knowledgeable, so sweet and has a lot of patience with Gigi! She learned everything she needed to from come and sit, down, heel all in 4 weeks!! Best decision of my life and best service I’ve ever spent my money on. Hands Down! Our dog was generally well behaved, but pulled on walks and had difficulty listening with distractions around. We saw great progress after just the first day! Andrew is extremely knowledgeable and made sure that we were well informed. He answered all our questions (we had a lot)! Our pup loves him and was so comfortable being with him. Marvel started training at 6 months old and graduated as the youngest pup to complete the day training program. She now knows basic commands as well as some advanced skills. Starting as a puppy has given her the confidence and BEST foundation to live the happiest and freest life she can live. She is focused on walks, socialized properly, and obedient. Andrew makes himself available and a trusted resource. Not only does he make the dog feel comfortable but he made us, owners, comfortable leaving our little girl with him.
